Residents of Danbury who have been deemed legally blind are eligible for an exemption off their assessment. This program requires a one-time filing of documentation deeming the applicant legally blind with the Assessor’s Office. Paperwork is due no later than October 1st of the grand list year.
To apply for the program, please submit documentation from your doctor that states you are permanently legally blind. This documentation can be emailed to Marie Kenney.
The Standard blind exemption for the City of Danbury is $3,000 off the assessment of Real Property or Motor Vehicle (Non-Income Based).
