Payments will be accepted at the Office of the Tax Collector, City Hall, 155 Deer Hill Avenue, Danbury, CT from 7:30 am to 6 pm, Monday through Wednesday, and from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm on Thursdays (office is closed on Fridays). Please note credit cards are not accepted in the office. Also, delinquent motor vehicle taxes must be paid with cash, money order, or certified bank check, per City of Danbury Ordinance Sec. 18-24.
You may also use our drop box located to the right of the main entrance of City Hall. Please put your payment in an envelope and include your bill coupon. If you need a receipt for your payment, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your payment. Please note do not put cash in the drop box.
In addition, property tax payments may be made at the Danbury branches of the Savings Bank of Danbury and Union Savings Bank, during the months of July, October, January, and April. Please note the following regarding payments at the bank branches:
- Only current taxes may be paid at the bank branches. Delinquent taxes may not be paid at any bank branch.
- You may not pay water and/or sewer taxes at the bank branches.
- Credit cards are not accepted at the bank branches.
The City of Danbury also offers online payments via echeck or credit card. You can link directly to the payment pages for property taxes or water and/or sewer taxes at the Tax Collector homepage. Please note that our online vendor is Invoice Cloud, and they are responsible for processing and emailing you confirmation of payments. Invoice Cloud charges the following fees for online payments.

Credit Cards: Property tax 2.95%, water and sewer $5.95 per transaction maximum $500 per transaction. Echeck: $0.95 cents. You will receive an email confirmation following your payment.
*Rejected payments due to incorrect information or insufficient funds will be charged a $20 non-sufficient fund fee.
